We had a great time on Ladies Day  last year, so we thought we would give Vincent’s Restaurant a bit of a promo here.  It’s a part of Preston College and the staff are catering students.

Guys Thatched Hamlet at Billsborough and The Grapes at Goosnargh are the venues for the summer bowling events, which feature a Hot Pot after the games.

For those of us not into bowling, these events offer the opportunity to spend the afternoon in the bar laughing at those foolish enough to be bowling and getting rained on!  It is worth the wait for the Hot Pot .

SOUNDS COSTLY?
£10.50 for a two course lunch, speaker, coffee etc.  Or the same for an afternoons bowling and Hot Pot and Apple Pie is  what  these events cost last year.  The Day Trips cost more, depending on where we go etc., but they are still cheap outings.
The lunch at Ferraries was also a  well worth the drive, so here is a plug for you guys too.  See their Web Site Click Here  Check out their Menus for a very good value for money lunch.

THE MAYDAY OUTING

The May Outing to Port Meirion in North Wales was blessed with good weather, strange as the weather was poor both before and after the event.  It was a casual day, visiting some stunning gardens, eating ice cream and drinking tea in the sunshine.
On the way home we stopped off at The Crown at Lymm for a meal and a convivial evening.  Sadly, for reasons beyond our control we were very late back.
